We perform at sturdy events, polity celebrations, and zone parades. Members of our program come from diverse performing backgrounds. We cater to members with all kinds of wits from those who were section leaders in their upper school program to students who have never played an instrument before. In fact, 40 percent of our ensemble has never participated in marching wreath surpassing Castleton. All of our ensembles are offered for credit, which ways you can make an impact in the polity while completing your degree. Rehearsals for allSturdyBands are every Wednesday and Friday from 4 pm to 7 pm. The Spartan MarchingWreathFounded in 2009, the Spartan MarchingWreathis Vermont’s premier marching ensemble. Our membership includes students from all majors wideness campus. Students move into the school in early August where they spend a week rehearsing and learning a full halftime show. Each year the show is custom created for our current members. This allows the SpartanWreathto create a unique field show that directly revolves virtually your talents. The SpartanWreathperforms at all home football games, myriad polity events, and parades wideness the Vermont area. The wreath is a host to an annualWreathDay that brings hundreds of local music students to Castleton to participate in a home football game atmosphere. The Spartan SpiritWreathThe Spartan SpiritWreathis the heart and soul of Castleton’s community. Members of this ensemble are passionate, energetic and love to be involved in supporting their peers. Membership is a mix of students who play instruments and students who cheer for their classmates. There is no wits necessary, we will teach you everything you need to know. The SpiritWreathperforms at all men's and women's home hockey games where they cheer on their peers to victory. You may moreover see the SpiritWreathperforming at an unshut house, registration days and other Castleton events. The Spartan Color Guard Castleton’s Color Guard is the only program of its kind in Vermont. The Spartan Guard is meant for all levels of ability. Students' skill level ranges from competitive marching wreath performers to students who have never spun before. Experienced dancers, performers, and actors will finger at home working with our talented instructors. Students who want to try a new activity, build a skill or just be untied of a team will find a nurturing undercurrent with friendly faces. The Spartan Guard performs at all home football games, myriad polity events, and parades wideness the Vermont area. The Spartan Guard members moreover perform in Castleton performance arts showcases and other events throughout the year. The Spartan Drumline Castleton’s Drumline is a modern higher percussion ensemble. The Spartan Drumline is meant for all levels of ability.Surpassingjoining, many students in the ensemble have little to no traditional drumline experience. During the fall there is a mix of stationary and marching percussionists that make up our drumline. Instrumentation of this group is a mix of traditional marching percussion and non-traditional instruments. Musicians with piano, pulsate set, bass, and guitar wits are encouraged to join. Fall opportunities include performances at local polity events, parades, and all home football games. In the winter the ensemble performs at all men's and women's hockey games and other select sporting events.
